his load is an improvement on traditional rubber buckshot. This load has two .73 cal. projectiles rather than many smaller ones. At the same 700 fps, two larger balls carry kinetic energy farther than small ones and are more effective at greater distances. The bore sized projectiles also enhance accuracy at greater distance. The 2 balls divide the total K.E. across two impact points, creating a strong pain stimulus without penetration.
This load can be ‘skip-fired’ at smaller animals by firing at the ground a few feet before the animal. The balls can then strike the animal after scrubbing off some of the kinetic energy.
